  • Climbing is often seen as a team activity, but there is something special about venturing into the mountains alone. Solo climbing is the ultimate adventure, allowing you to experience the raw beauty of nature without distractions. It is becoming increasingly popular, with notable solo climbers such as Alex Honnold, Dani Arnold, Andy Kirkpatrick, Pete Whittaker, Ueli Steck, Catherine Destivelle, Silvia Vidal, Steph Davis, Brette Harrington inspiring more people to take up the challenge. However, true solo climbing is undeniably risky. To mitigate these risks, climbers have developed specialised techniques for rope solo climbing, which can be done using either top (TRS) or lead rope (LRS).
  • Although some tutorials are available (here and here), Ascension Adventures has developed a unique course to help you learn the rope solo climbing techniques, its limitations, and how to stay safe while exploring this exciting realm.
  • The course includes single pitch top rope solo skills on day one; multipitch lead rope solo skills on day two; rope solo traverses and consolidation on day three. The course can be tailored to your goals and experience. You can choose any day or combination of days. The days do not need to be consecutive. Previous trad lead climbing experience is essential.
